Rooftop Bars, Craft Beer and Night Markets Near GOAT Tattoo on Trang Thi
Published October 13, 2026

Short answer: Within about 700 m of GOAT Tattoo Studio at 56 Trang Thi there are more than a dozen rooftop and cocktail bars, several craft-beer taprooms along Train Street and Hang Bong, and live-music bars on Quan Su and Hoi Vu. The weekend night market on Hang Dao is about a 12-minute walk. If you were tattooed today, keep it to a quiet evening: skip the drinks tonight and avoid tight crowds.
All places below come from Google Maps in October 2026. Ratings and review counts are as shown on Maps then, and distances are straight-line from the studio. Nobody paid to be listed. Opening hours change, so check before you go.
First, the tattoo: drinking after a session
Alcohol thins the blood and dehydrates you. On the evening of your session that can mean more oozing from the fresh tattoo and a rougher first night of healing. The usual aftercare advice is to wait at least until the next day before drinking, and keeping it moderate for the first few days.
Before a session the rule is stricter: please come sober. Our post on drinking before a tattoo explains why. The bars below are best for the night before your appointment (in moderation), for friends who came along, or for later in your trip once healing is under way.
Rooftop bars with a view
- Botan Bar & Dine, 151–153 Hang Bong, about 170 m. 5.0 stars (1,588 reviews). The closest rooftop to the studio.
- Soho Rooftop Bar, Champton Hotel, 128–130 Hang Bong, about 205 m. 4.9 stars (33 reviews).
- Cloud Sky Bar, JM Marvel Hotel, 16 Hang Da, about 390 m. 4.9 stars (3,561 reviews).
- AIRA Sky Bar & Lounge, 38A Tran Phu, about 400 m. 4.9 stars (449 reviews).
- Ozone Sky Lounge, 18–24 Nha Chung, about 540 m. 4.9 stars (1,125 reviews). Near St Joseph’s Cathedral.
- SOL Sky Bar, Solaria Hotel, 22 Bao Khanh, about 650 m. 4.9 stars (1,267 reviews). Close to Hoan Kiem Lake.
- DUSK Sky Bar, 84–86 Hang Gai, about 675 m. 4.9 stars (542 reviews).
Most open in the late afternoon. Sunset is the best time, and an evening rooftop is also the easy way to enjoy the city without putting a healing tattoo in the sun.
Cocktail bars and live music
- The Hanoi Social Club, 6 Hoi Vu alley, about 190 m. 4.4 stars (4,284 reviews). A relaxed café-bar with light food.
- Thoáng Acoustic, 38 Quan Su, about 180 m. 5.0 stars (132 reviews). Acoustic live music in the evenings.
- Sicily Chamber Bar, 9 Au Trieu, about 400 m. 4.9 stars (734 reviews).
- Moon Men Cocktail Bar, 3 Au Trieu, about 410 m. 4.8 stars (326 reviews).
- TIPSY LOONG, 19 Nguyen Quang Bich, about 465 m. 5.0 stars (476 reviews).
- BAR CURIO, 8 Trang Thi, about 585 m. 4.8 stars (96 reviews).
- Le Ciel Bar, 35 Hang Trong, about 610 m. 4.9 stars (1,803 reviews).
Craft beer and bia hơi
- Bross Craft Beer, 5 Tho Nhuom, about 45 m. 4.8 stars (313 reviews). Practically around the corner.
- Local Craft Beer On Train Street, 2B Tran Phu, about 230 m. 4.9 stars (67 reviews).
- Peachy Train Street, 30 Phung Hung, about 260 m. 4.9 stars (965 reviews).
- Tony Vu Brewing 1, 66 Hang Bong, about 390 m. 4.9 stars (935 reviews).
- Pasteur Street Craft Beer, Au Trieu, about 410 m. 4.8 stars (4,118 reviews).
Bia hơi, Hanoi’s cheap fresh draught beer drunk on plastic stools, is part of the city’s street culture. If you just want a non-alcoholic evening, the same places serve soft drinks and snacks, and the cafés near the studio stay open into the evening.
Night markets and evening food
- Hanoi Weekend Night Market, starting at Hang Dao, about 900 m, around a 12-minute walk. Friday to Sunday evenings, from about 6–7 PM.
- Hoan Kiem walking streets: on weekend evenings the streets around the lake are closed to traffic.
- Late food nearby: Thu Hà Nội Restaurant (1D Tong Duy Tan, about 200 m, 4.8 stars, 444 reviews, listed as open until 11 PM) and Mỳ Phố (67A Hang Bong, about 425 m, 4.7 stars, 602 reviews, listed as open until 11:30 PM).
With a fresh tattoo in a crowd
- Protect it from bumps: night markets and Train Street get packed, and elbows and bags rub against arms and legs. Wear a loose layer over the tattoo or go at a quieter hour.
- Keep it clean: street-food smoke, dust and spilled drinks don’t belong on a healing tattoo. Wash your hands before touching it.
- Get some sleep: a late night out makes the first few days of healing harder. Our day-by-day healing timeline shows when you can relax more.
