Full Back, Sleeve & Leg Tattoo Prices by Style in Hanoi

Our full sleeve/back cost guide estimates a total by multiplying realistic session counts against our $77/hour rate — useful for a rough budget, but not as precise as it could be, because a sketch-style full sleeve and a full-color realism full sleeve take genuinely different amounts of time to complete. So instead of one hourly-rate estimate, here are our actual fixed-price packages for full-coverage pieces, broken down by placement and style.

Full Back (or full chest & belly)

  • Sketch-style / fine-line / dotwork — $1,800–2,150
  • New Japanese (black & white) — $2,150–3,000
  • New Japanese (color) — $2,400–3,600
  • Traditional Japanese (black & white) — $2,400–3,250
  • Traditional Japanese (color) — $3,000–4,200
  • Realism (black & grey) — $3,000–4,200
  • Realism (color) — $3,600–4,800

Full Sleeve

  • Sketch-style / fine-line / dotwork — $1,100–1,300
  • New Japanese (black & white) — $1,200–1,550
  • New Japanese (color) — $1,800–2,400
  • Traditional Japanese (black & white) — $1,200–1,800
  • Traditional Japanese (color) — $1,900–2,400
  • Realism (black & grey) — $1,800–2,400
  • Realism (color) — $2,400–3,600
  • Maori / Mandala — $1,800–2,400

Full Leg

  • Sketch-style / fine-line / dotwork — $2,400
  • New Japanese (black & white) — $2,400–3,600
  • New Japanese (color) — $3,000–4,200
  • Traditional Japanese (black & white) — $2,400–3,600
  • Realism (black & grey) — $3,600–4,800
  • Realism (color) — $4,200–5,400
  • Maori / Mandala — $3,600–4,800

Why style moves the price so much within the same placement

A full leg priced at $2,400 for sketch-style work and $5,400 for color realism isn’t an inconsistency — it’s the same placement carrying a completely different amount of actual tattooing time. Sketch-style, fine-line, and dotwork pieces rely on line density rather than solid fill, so even a full-coverage design can move relatively quickly. Full-color Japanese and color realism, by contrast, require multiple passes of shading and color layering across the same surface area to get right, which is where most of the extra hours actually go — not toward a bigger design, but a more time-intensive one.

Package price vs. our hourly rate — which applies to you

These fixed ranges apply specifically to full-coverage pieces at the placements above. Anything smaller than a full back, sleeve, or leg — a half-sleeve, a large but non-full-coverage back piece, a big thigh piece that doesn’t wrap the whole leg — is priced at our standard $77/hour rate instead, confirmed after your design consultation once we know the real scope. If you’re not sure which category your idea falls into, that’s exactly what the consultation is for.

What to expect at GOAT Tattoo Studio

Every price above is a real range from our current price list, not a placeholder — see our full pricing page for the complete breakdown alongside our $77/hour and $36 mini-tattoo rates. A project this size is never quoted from a photo alone: we confirm the exact package price after seeing your reference design and discussing placement, so you know the real number before any session is booked.
